This is why I don't guess anything with the plot :3. I might be wrong, which isn't a big deal really; what I worry about the most is if I'm right! Then I'll have ruined part of the plot! I like to be surprised in stories, and while I am shouting at the top of my lungs "THE BELL THINGY DO THE BELL THINGY!" I just patiently wait to see what happens...
x.x Thank you for bringing that up HanyounoMiko! If I had to sit on that much longer I think I would have broke and gone on a lunatic's rant about "WHY DID YOU *JUST* LEARN IT ONLY TO FORGET ABOUT IT!? WHY AREN'T YOU USING IT!? RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!" and make a general ass out of myself :3.
Not that I don't do that already.

But I still get really worried when approaching an "epic revelation!" moment, wondering if a) I've been too obvious and the revelation comes as no surprise to anyone (eg. Goryoumaru is really Mouryoumaru!), or b) I've been so vague or nonsensical that the revelation seems completely illogical or just pulled out of my ass (eg. Sesshoumaru's arm). The best-case scenario to me is always that things come as a surprise, but once you know them you can look at it in light of all the prior information I've given and go, "Ohh, that makes sense!" The problem, though, is that I have a habit of dropping information in misleading ways. The biggest one being that a piece of information will come up and I or another character will misinterpret it in order to throw the reader in the wrong direction, and I'm afraid if I do that too much, people will get confused when the real story comes to light.

I love guessing what's going to happen ahead of time, and I always get a total rush when I'm right (probably why I'm addicted to shows like Detective Conan, for example). Buuuuut I know a lot of people feel like you do, so even though it's fun for me to guess at what's going to happen, I don't want to upset other people who don't want to think about what hasn't happened yet.

wondering if a) I've been too obvious and the revelation comes as no surprise to anyone (eg. Goryoumaru is really Mouryoumaru!) Heh. I didn't realize it until it was actually said. ^_^; So yeah, I've actually been lurking around since chapter 14, but I've been too lazy to register. XD I'm really excited about where this story is going, and I can't wait to see where it ends up. I was also thinking the bell thing too. (pathetic attempt at a comment or perfect-example-of-why-I-only-lurk)

(pathetic attempt at a comment or perfect-example-of-why-I-only-lurk) Aw, welcome, and thanks for reading and commenting. ^_^ I'm really hoping that I manage a satisfactory conclusion to this arc. I have most everything more or less planned out and just hope that it's still exciting while refreshingly surprising yet not too difficult to understand. That and I hope people are okay with what the resolution ends up being. ^_^* There's been quite a few places in the story where I've had debates amongst myself and my beta-reader as to how I should handle things (kinda like the "wish" idea that upon further reflection was extremely stupid and I ended up scrapping in the next chapter ^_^*). I know there's no way to please everyone with how I handle things, but I hope to at least manage to do it in a way that's in-character, makes logical sense, and doesn't pull too much of a deus ex machina.

Yay! I can see it now, Yachouon and Inupapa as batman and robin. ^_^
EDIT: Inupapa, you are a savior. Your story is food to a starving man err.. woman. I, out of curiosity, thought I'd look for other "Inuyasha" fics and well... THE HORROR! Mary-Sues and OOC characters abound. T'was a very scary experience.
EDIT AGAIN: Stupid typos... >.<

Meaning it has more crappy fanfics than almost any other fandom D: (Which, honestly? So disappointing. I mean, there are some really good IY fanfics but you have to slog through so much crap to find them.).

Because... that just... doesn't make ANY sense. Especially that the most popular pairing is Sesshoumaru/Kagome, which only makes slightly more sense than Inu-papa/Kagome, in the same way that picking up a poisonous toad with chopsticks and then swallowing it whole makes slightly more sense than holding it bare-handed and swallowing it whole. That being said, again, if a character in this story starts coming across as too OOC or Mary-Sue/Gary-Stu-ish, yell at me about it.

I DON'T understand badfic writers. Where the hell do they even come UP with pairings? I've also seen Sango X Naraku (what), Sango x Sesshoumaru (And this was BEFORE the whole bit at the end of the manga, back when Sesshoumaru's appraisal of the Inutachi was "Hmm...my brother...his bitch...the monk...the fox kid...the cat...hey, a tree!"), and Souta x Kohaku. WHAT.

I really don't understand it either. MyougaxJaken, RinxNaraku, ShippouxSesshoumaru... WHY? That's worse than DracoxGiantSquid in HP fandom. And what's with all the rape? It's like they think everyone is screaming "Moar raep pls!". *headdesk* I mean, some wierd pairings are okay as long as they are written believably and everyone is in character, but this is just... HORRIBLE. Moral of the Story: Inu-papa knows best. Oh, and off-topic, but what are you going to do when Sessmom shows up? She has no name!

WHAT. Some of it may simply be a "competition" of sorts as to who can come up with the most unbelievable pairing. As long as they're not meant to be taken seriously, crack pairings are fine (there's a funny one about Ah-Un and Kagome's bike). But most of the time (especially Sesshoumaru/Kagome) they're written with the author somehow actually believing it makes sense and is a legitimate pairing. I remember Harry Potter fans got in a tizzy about JK Rowling not making Harry/Draco a canon pairing and chalked her motivation up to homophobia rather than... the pairing not making any sense whatsoever. Which is another bit of hypocricy I see in the yaoi fandom. To a lot of yaoi fans, ALL male characters are inherently gay; the ones who have female love interests are just pretending. So they'll take an obviously straight character like Miroku and pair him with Inuyasha or Naraku or Sesshoumaru or something and then accuse you of being a homophobe if you have any problem with it. However, if someone else takes an obviously gay character like Jakotsu and pairs him with Kagome or Sango or something... then that's just crossing the line, how dare you mess with someone's sexuality like that! Gay or straight, no matter what pairing you're writing a fic about, you're going to have to give me a good, in-character reason these people should give a damn about each other. And, no, "The sex would be hot" is not a good reason. Oh, and off-topic, but what are you going to do when Sessmom shows up? She has no name! Actually, that's technically on-topic while this badfic conversation is what's off-topic. ^_^* As for Sesshoumaru's mother... honestly, I have no idea. While the entire story is one big presumptuous fabrication that's meant to tie everything that's known about me and the status of the world in the main Inuyasha storyline together, I don't know how presumptuous I want to be. Giving a name to a canon yet unnamed character may be pushing the limits of my hopes to keep anything in this story from being blatantly misinformative. Then again, with the manga over and the anime unlikely to continue at this point, I don't see her ever being given a canon name that I could contradict. But on the other side of that, I don't want some fan years down the road pointing at this site and saying, "Sesshoumaru's mom has an official name and this is what it is, since everything else this site says is reliable." So my only options are either sidelining her so much that it's not as awkward that she's never named, or being overly-presumptuous and giving her a name myself.

EDIT: Eh, I had a continuation of bad-fic discussion, but I think I'll just let it die and shut my trap.
I can imagine the dilemma. Sidelining her would feel wrong, like you're minimizing her/Sesshoumaru's importance, but giving her a name so that you can show her more would be like trying day after day to wear clothes that just don't fit.

...And, no, "The sex would be hot" is not a good reason. But what if its *reaaallly* good sex. I mean, not just *good* But *FANTASTIC* sex? No? Ah well. As for the Fluff-mama thing....Nameless people could become a theme of your story. I mean you have a name, its just that its not a name a human can pronounce ( Woof...WoOof...wuff...screw it) and you kept Akagane's name secret from us for quite a while. And heck, she's a dog too, for all she knows she has a name, a very nice name, but just has no way of conveying what it is in a human tongue. And now that I think on it, we don't know the name of your mother either. OR your father.
