Hi all -
I am looking to get a puppy and I wanted to give it a japanese name. If I get a boy I will probably name him InuYasha (I gotta!). But if it's a girl I have a couple of ideas. I don't like the name Kagome for a dog and I am not a Kikyo fan. I am looking at Ayame (I know it's not a cannon name). The other 2 names I am looking at are (from the show) Shiori and (not at all from IY) Kaori. Does anyone know what Shiori and Kaori mean? Thanks in advance!!

Just write it in hiragana, so it won't particularly mean anything.
Ayame is the word for "iris." Check out the irises in Ayame's hair. Shiori could mean "broken branches," or "bookmark." Kaori could mean "scent" or "fragrance."
Something like that.

Actually I found one of the links from the Main InuGoya site that leads to CIP at this webbie: inuyasha.cassandraspage.com/ and they have this great Japanese name translator. I found out that mine could either be "Heza" or "Kanji" They even give the hiragana write out if you want it.

What about Satoki, or Shanamei...none have any meaning, because I don't know if they do or don't! Just make it something cute or cool, if it has meaning or not!
