So I was thinking about this and I though an we have been quiet for awhile lets see if I can get a topic going on this subject. Various anime addictions. I have what you might call a split personality on animes. I either like or I don' like, I never know till I try. Take for example my weekly fixes. I have to have My Inyuasha and My Fullmetal Alchemist. But I also drool over My Saiyuki reloaded and I just started on Chrno Crusade. (THANK YOU GOD for My cable modem!) I have also grabbed Sprial and Angelic layer(boy did that get me made fun of). AS for things I own I have all the Ranma tv series, all of Furuba(fruits basket) and all of evangelion with a good helping of other things thrown in.
Do other people collect anime like candy? I seem to run across people that are really really monogamous with their anime. What about you guys?

Inu's the only anime I download, but that's mostly because of my limited bandwidth and hard drive space. I can only store about five episodes of anything at a time on my hard drive, and it takes me a whole day just to get one, so I stay pretty monagamous, myself.
Thankfully, there's anime club (or, was, when I was still in school...). Our president this year had the brilliant idea of "teasers", where we would begin each weekly meeting with the first episode of a new or obscure series. Therefore, I was able to get exposed to a lot of neat stuff without having to put strain on my own computer. ^_^
Of course, I only hoarde Inuyasha because it's still running, and therefore I have new stuff to get every week. It has yet to replace Slayers as my favorite anime series ever, and it probably never will. Slayers and I go a loooong way back. And even though Slayers has been over for years, I still never get tired of it. ^_^

But I do have a cable modem. It's just attached to a router that services all three computers in the house, so bandwidth is divided between them.
Really, my limiting factor is my hard drive space. I can only hold maybe four episodes of anything at a time before I have to burn them off to CD to free up some space.

I can only store about five episodes of anything at a time on my hard drive, and it takes me a whole day just to get one, so I stay pretty monagamous, myself. *GASP* Now I know the REAL reason you won't marry me... *sniffles* And I thought we'd all be able to co-habitate together and... yeah. *sniffles* Anyhoozit... as far as anime/manga is concerned, Inuyasha is definitely it. I have the tankoubon and have watched a few other series that I'm interested in, but I don't really follow them as intensely as Inuyasha. So 'till death do us part, it shall only be me and my Inu. The honeymoon's over, though. Inu's starting to scratch himself in weird places in front of me, burp and fart without concern... and he's even left his dirty underwear in the middle of the living room. But that's okay! I still luff t3h Inu! --- ...oh wait. I take that back. I also follow anything by Studio Ghibli. Mononoke, Laputa, Nausica, Sen, Totoro... all of those! Miyazaki is GOD! ^_^ --- And I'm addicted to Kappei Yamaguchi's voice. Guaranteed I WILL watch an anime series episode becasue he's in it. But there still have not been any series that have hooked me like Inuyasha. Well, except Maison Ikkoku. So I take that back twice. ...I guess I'm not as monogamous as I thought.

But I do have a cable modem. It's just attached to a router that services all three computers in the house, so bandwidth is divided between them. Thats my problem, my bandwith is split between the three computers and I cant download as fast as I used to... Im spoiled, I'll give you that, and yes Therhoda, I have my own PC so i can do with it as I please (anime) But when it comes down to bandwith i get a little jipped. If i download too mcuh stuff it messes with out tri computer network and screws everything to hell. So I cant download lots of episodes at once....o well, how much memory can be eaten up by anime?? I think I need to go get another hard-drive, Half Life II is coming out and I might be out of room by then...

I'm definitely anything BUT monogamous! I like to follow the current anime series as they are released via fansub as well as catch up on old series I passed up before there was this wonderful world of Internet and fansubbing, not to mention I will rewatch old favorites at the same time.
I collect anime like crazy even though I know I'm really just wasting my money :/. I never got into manga, as I was never into comics either, but recently I have been more interested in checking out certain series. Though, I have yet to convince myself to actually buy any. ^.^

Ok I know You guys know me *hi my name is rhoda and I am an addict* but today in a fit of just plain curiosity I got all the anime out and added it up. I have a total (about) of 8866 minates-148 hours of anime. which if You are wonder is 6+ days of nothing but anime!!! To truly put it in perspective I guess I should say and that is with out the new Inuyasha's for this month or the rest of kare kano (i have the first disk) or the OVA's for Ranma. Add also to the preorders I have for the english Gravitiation release later this year. You know when I look at the numbers and then think about what I have gotten online My brain boggles! SO I had to post where I thought someone may appreciate the insanity!
Now for those of You wondering yes we were bored today!

....Darn hard-drive....
I had to format mydrive because it was so boggled down with viruses and spyware that even Macafee could fix it. I had about 40+ gigs worth of anime episodes, songs, music videos... (Some I made myself - finally got Premiere Pro!) Needless to say the only space I had to save my giant collection of anime was on a 20 gig hard-drive! It was so hard picking what would stay and what would go. Now I have to scour mIRC and kazaa Lite for the stuff that was deleted. ....At least my computer is virus free....
A bad day for anime, a good day for virus free computers
