And here I come again, on the subject I've been most hated for... Takahashi has an HISTORY of HORRID endings to her stories (Ranma 1/2 and Urusei Yatsura. Maison Ikoku was nice, but could have been better) HOWEVER, that doesn't mean that she is going to give Inuyasha a bad ending. Ranma 1/2 and Urusei Yatsura were mainly comedies. Inuyasha, on the other hand, has a PLOT. But either way, I'm not expecting much for a good ending On a side note (and completely unrelated) I just listened to the spanish translation of Angelus....... man... if anyone ever EVER wants to FREAK OUT with a HORRIBLE dubbing and EVEN WORST music basterdization, pleaste let me know and I'll make your lives a living hell (a.k.a. send you Angelus and I am and basically any Inuyasha translated song) IN reality, I don't think songs should be translated. They should be left as they are. But, just for the sake of entertaining ourselves, send us a link so we can hear it.

Hey Fflewf, hey Chafa. =)
Life got a little busy, so, yeah, I wasn't around much for a few months.
I've said in another thread that the series has been dragging for me, too. It feels like the last year has been all about Tessaiga power-ups. It picked up a bit with meidou zangetsuha, and it's picking up a bit more, now.
Interesting that Naraku (remember him?) seems to have sabotaged Inuyasha's growth. And you gotta love Sesshoumaru's attitude at the um, "lake".

yeah, that was probably the greatest part of this whole tessaiga powerup arc. HOWEVER... as I was talking with a friend earlier today, doesn't all this kinda happen... randomly? I mean, Sesshoumaru RANDOMLY appears to tell Inuyasha how deviated he is and then, Inuyasha goes RANDOMLY to Toutousai and he sends him to some RANDOM youkai who some other RANDOM youkai ate his guts and... well, you get the picture... as we kindly christened it... the RANDOM arc... Its not like I'm not enjoying it, its just that... well, I'm not really enjoying it either. Its just... bleh.

Deep Forest, however, eventhough I love the voice I have to admit that the translation needs a little more work. You know which one is scarier? Every Heart.

Its just the fact that nothing seems to happen AT ALL. And besides, now we have all the supporting cast (whose role has been anything BUT supportive this last year) away from this particular arc. I mean, the whole Nikosen thing just when down a tube and probably the solution will be far away from what it seemed to be. I'm pretty confident in that this arc will probably lead up to nothing regarding the main plot, its just the conclusion of a powerup arc that has been around for almost a year now. So thank you for this wonderful random arc, but no thank you. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not giving up on the series, its just that this arc has been prolonged way too much, and NOTHING (besides Mouryoumaru, Sesshoumaru and Kouga getting a powerup, and those things could have been wrapped up in like 3 or 4 chapters altogether) has happened, and makes me think that Takahashi didn't intend for the manga to end this far, but stretched it up to *at least* chapter 500 just for t3h money... but then again, this is just my impression...
Edit: I just noticed that this post sounded a bit rude. I'm sorry, really, its just that I'm getting fed up with the whole Tessaiga DS deal, and I think I'm not the only one...

Nah, don't worry about. You are just expressing your opinion. And I have to agree with the fact that Takahashi is extending the arc unnecessarily. Hell, if I would have given up on the series, you and I wouldn't be having this conversation. I still have hope that the series will make some turn around and resolve some issues concerning InuYasha and Seshsoumaru...and not only them, but the rest of the characters that are suffering too. I think there is so much you can do with this series that I don't understand why Takahashi is not really, who would you say?, taking advantage of its great potential. HOnestly, if you are going to compared to the others she's written, although I've heard that Maison Ikkoku and Mermaid Forest are really well-developed, this one is her best. Nah, you're not being rude.

I have not seen any of Takahashi's other work outside Inu Yasha so I can't judge based on history. But as someone who has learned to avoid disappointment by detachment, I'll just be happy if Inu Yasha (but preferabley with everyone else) kills Naraku, the end. She can at least do that much I hope.
EDIT: Ooops, I think I was responding to something posted on the first page. It's late, I'm tired, good night zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I imagine that woman is already unbelievably rich, considering she's widely considered to be [at least] one of the most successful manga artists in Japan. Besides, she's been drawing chart-topping manga since the 80s, unless she's spending it wildly on something, I can't imagine money is a problem. Maybe she's trying to break a world record? And p.s. - hey, echo! Thanks for the kinda funny nickname. Kind of sounds like a pet name for Sesshoumaru.

It's hard to say if she planned this way back when she thought of Sess's charcter or not but you have to admit it fits really well. As for the ending let's just be patient and see how it plays out. Afterall we have all stuck it out this far.
Edit: Opps responding first page *I plead newbie syndrome*
