Woo! As you may or may not know, episodes 141 through 145 (at least) are all manga canon episodes. So, let's group together some discussion about them, ESPECIALLY since these episodes are the ones which introduce our beloved Hakudoushi.
So, just caught 141. And then realized that I'd flubbed romanizing the monk's name in the episode preview :P. Hooray for the anime giving names to characters who were not originally named in the manga. Or just randomly adding characters, like this "Rengokuki" fellow who's apparently Entei's old boss.
And, c'mon Kuro, I know you're disappointed that the 'Doushter wasn't technically in 141, but... his arm was! And he was in the episode preview. ::pat pat:: But, man, it's so weird to see the anime getting into the setup of where the manga is currently (Kanna with the baby, Kagura with Hakudoushi, Naraku still off somewhere eating cookies or something).
I'm personally waiting for episode 143, since, well, Fluffy gets pwned by the miniature acorn-wielding fuzzball. :P Not to mention it's another Ikeda episode, so the art style's bound to be super-cute as well.

Oh, MAN! Are you kidding! Even though the Doushdoush wasn't there for more than 5 seconds, I was still completely giddy with Doushiness. ^_^ They showed his hair, too, after all. Ah, and you were right about Ai Kobayashi being his voice. ^_^ She's totally creepy. Heh, and after hearing her do so well with the baby, I honestly don't think I could have imagined Doushi's voice being any different anymore. Heh-heh-heh. Say, since both Naraku and Secchi have been out of the picture for a few episodes, I'm still convinced that they're off baking muffins together. ^_^; So... HECKYES! Five episodes of cannonageness! AND THERE WAS MUCH REJOICING IN INULAND! 141 was much more intense than I remembered the manga to be, but that's mostly because the battle against Entei was drawn out a bit. But I ain't complaining. Entei would be pretty kickass in the Senkogu Derby, hm?

Okay, Kuro, NOW you may rejoice, as 142, the REAL introduction of Hakudoushi, aired this morning. Meaning the preview for 143 is up: TEH CUTENESS!! Kanta's Hawaiian? Kuro, go find him!

And Hakudoushi is revealed! How did the episode portray him as opposed to the manga? How was his voice?

There is much rejoicing in Kuroland! 1. HAKUDOUSHIIII! DOUSHI DOUSHI DOUSHIDOUSHIDOUSHI!!! 2. Kanta is Hawaiian?! *falls over* That's priceless. XD This gives me an idea for some demented fanart. See, Japanese people seem to REALLY, REALLY love Hawaii... Heh-heh-heh. *ahems* Though on the topic of the actual episode... well, I'm still waiting for Saiyaman to put it up. Which means I won't be able to watch until after work this evening, but still! Hopefully it'll be up by then. And then it's time for t3h DOUSHI! ^_^

According to the Japanese blog reviews that I read constantly, the anime added something rather amusing in episode 142. Apparently when Kagura meets Rengokuki (the oni who was Entei's old master), he takes one look at her and exclaims, "MARRY ME!" XD
Man, I really wanna see this episode even more now. ^_^*

Gak! I was trying to post this earlier and for some reason the post never went through. *kills... and does something very Hakudoushi-ish to the server* DIE! But HOLY HECKNESS, what can I say? THE BOY IS EVIL! And he's like.. ultimate.... *shudders* Even more bonechillingly creepy than I imagined. Kudos to Ai Kobayashi.

I can't remember by who, but there is a famous quote that there is nothing more cruel than a child. In Hakudoushi's case, that quote should be his autobiography!

Phew, FINALLY saw 142. The fates were keeping me away from it, what with my computer crashing and me not being able to resume the download all day today due to my laptop being needed for lab. Rrr.
Anyway, holy crap, Hakudoushi kicked butt! So, that's how they explain the spear... Odd, considering Kouji's blog mentions Chokyuukai making a guest appearance in 143, and that's who Hakudoushi got the spear from in the manga. And Sesshoumaru got the last line of the episode preview. I'll bet he feels so special now :P
Well, I want to leave some of my opinions for the actual episode write-up after I get the chance to watch it through again. But for now... more final project time! Woo hoo!

The further along the story we get the more cuter Sesshy gets since he's actually getting in contact with something called a Heart. To tell you the truth, I'd kill to see Sesshy in a moment of pure silliness. THAT would be priceless!

Well, you never SEE him do anything silly, but you can certainly HEAR him do crazy stuff in the audio dramas and interviews. KEN: "No, no, no! I'm not Narita Ken, I'm Sesshoumaru! Okay, here we go, here we go.... ahem.... POISON CLAWS!!!! .... Okay, I said it, too." KAPPEI: "Sesshou-nii-chan!" KEN: "... ... ... ... Oh man... Okay... How do I say this... You are... my dearest little brother." And, of course, Sesshoumaru's off-the-air running gag: "... Korosu zo?" (I almost hope they incorporate that into an episode someday. I will just laaaaaaugh ^_^)

Hey Patches, I just saw your review for 146. I have not actually seen the episode yet, but you made some comment about Miroku's womanizing.
Well, I think this one time it's actually manga supported. I went back and looked at volume 31 part. 302 (I believe) and it's got something almost like what you quoted (would have to see the episode to be sure).
Anyway, am in no way being critical. I love your reviews. Quite fun. Just commenting.

Yeah, I noticed that a few hours later and went back to change my review. He's still never popped the "bear my child" line in the manga since then (besides in a flashback), though, even though he has in the anime numerous times. I mean, he's already got a girl with him who said she would, so what would be the point anymore?

Oh, I fully agree with you Patches. There's no reason for him too anymore. Anyway, I think in this instance he WAS joking.... Well, whether or not the anime writers continue to mess with their relationship...I figure Sango will always be there to keep him in line and where it really counts Miroku will always be there for Sango. And that's why they're perfect for each other. *shrug*
