Ok, i know I havent posted in a while, my computer was fried, i was broke, the rest was self explanatory...
The good news is im back...for now at least.
Ok, I have started redownloading all my anime and movies off Supernova.com via bittorrent. But alot of the files ive downloaded are distorted. The video is choppy, or completely made out of boxes. It cuts in and out of focus, again more boxes and boxes...i hate cubism!
Anyone ever had this problem before? If it were one or two videos out of the hundreds im downloading i wouldnt care, but most of the videos are like this. Anime-Krazes subbed Inu eps 152 and 153 were like this, and I didnt see any complaints in their forums about the quality. (You cant even make out character shapes in the eps I downloaded only boxes) So has anyone had this problem before, and if yes, how do you solve the problem. I want to watch these eps and videos and I am completely stumped on how to fix it...
HELP ME PLEASE!!

Huh. Can't say I've had that problem. What BT client are you using? Speaking of BitTorrent, anime.mircx is back up as anime.mirkx, so you can find everything IY from there again. (before you ask, the movie 3 BT link that is available there is for the Chinese subtitled version)

I assume you have all the latest codecs and video drivers?

I use ABC BT client and I think I have the latest video programs...
I use BS Player and Winamp 5.03. The Xvid Codecs are installed on my computer...I think...They got deleted earlier this week somehow and put up a fight to be reinstalled but i got them back. What programs and codecs do you use, if I use programs that are known to work with the anime eps then I can eliminate one problem at a time...
Thanks for the help so far!

It kinda sounds like yuou don't have complete files...
You know how bittorrent works, right? How it reserves all the space it'll need for a file up front and then fill in random chunks all higgledy piggledy? You could have 1% of a file, but it'll look like a full 150 megs or whatever. I dunno if that's actually your problem, but an incomplete file will play like you've described -cubes, snow... basically random, uninterprettable chunks of data.
It's an easy enough fix, so it's probably worth making sure you've got the whole file. Unfortunately, if your client is like mine, you'll have to try downloading the file again to figure out whether you've got it all or not. It it's only a partial, you'll connect to peers and finish your download. If it's complete, the client'll tell you the file's100% and start uploading to the other peers.
Anyway... I hope ya figure it out!

What client do you use, im using ABC...
Besides, the entire episode plays, you can hear the sound behind it and it runs for the full 22 minutes. Sometimes you can make out video and it looks complete. I dunno what the problem is, but i think the files complete.

I'm using the Debian Linux port of the original BitTorrent client. Dunno if it has a name.
Like I said before, because BitTorrent is taking in information from a number of peers at once, it doesn't get the information in any particular order. This means that if you have 90% of a file, that 10% you're missing is not the last few minutes of the file, but random chunks of data scattered throughout the entire thing. A mostly complete file will play, it'll just look like crap. =)
I just ran a file that was 86% complete and it did play, complete with audio. The audio and video were choppy and would freeze for a split second occasionally, and just about every frame had a few blocks of garbage.
So, yeah. Since that's the easiest fix, I'd really recommend double-checking that the troublesome files are 100% complete.
Good luck to you!
