I don't think either are especially well done. Takahashi's dialogue is usually less than inspiring, and her inclination towards dragging out trivial story arcs really ruined it for me. And it seems to me like just recently, in the last 30 or 40 chapters or so, she changed her mind (on the pointless story arcs that don't advance the plot) and has been in catch-up mode, trying to end the story with as much dignity as possible. Hence Sesshoumaru being in the story more than usual, since we never get to see him unless something important is going down.

Good thing I didn't start collecting the manga. I told myself, while the anime series was still given, that I wasn't going to collect anything InuYasha until the series was finally done. The thing is that when you start something which is good and then it finishes bad, you look back and cry on the investment you just made.
That's the thing, Takahashi usually starts out good but then she tends to drag her stories and the endings turn out not too good. I heard she makes up the stories as she goes along which is a very bad way to plan stories in the first place. But I mean, if you don't know what's going to happen in the end of your own story, I think you should take some times and sit down.
I have a feeling we are in for some disappointment. Especially concerned with Sesshoumaru and InuYasha.
