I listened to the clip of "Grip" with the English-dubbed opening. And I hate to say this, knowing there are dubbed fans out there, but...WAAAAHHHH....I don't want to get specific because it will sound mean. But...I hate to think what will happen to "One Day, One Dream."
What's sad is that when I've listened to this in the car, I've even translated what Kagome and Inuyasha say into English and managed to get it to work better than the scripted lines they use.

Actually, I was more confused as to why, even on the "Shinjitsu no Uta" ending, they STILL haven't put Kagura in the credits. C'mon, she's more important than, like, Kagome's mom.

It seems though that they have a stock set of people they use in the closing credits. And they NEVER credit the Japanese VAs except in the DVD credits buried in the extras, grrrrr....

At first I wasn't going to check it out since I've seen all the opening/closings, but I just had to see what everyone was talking about with the "Grip!" opening... ...And, yes, it was awful! The VA's just sound too much like, well, VA's instead of the characters they portray. It was too commercial and I'm guessing since it won't actually air on TV, they didn't spend too much time on it. ^.~ Actually, I was more confused as to why, even on the "Shinjitsu no Uta" ending, they STILL haven't put Kagura in the credits. C'mon, she's more important than, like, Kagome's mom. She is listed in the credits during "Shinjitsu no Uta." It's toward the end of the song.

She is listed in the credits during "Shinjitsu no Uta." It's toward the end of the song. ::checks again:: Ah! I guess she is. They stuck her in the middle of the list instead of at the end, so I didn't catch it when I first watched it. They still don't have Kohaku in there, though. Maybe they're afraid he'll get flamed too much. :P

Hi everyone ^^ I'm new to the board and making this thread my first stop. Yeah, I'm not too impressed with the dubbing of the GRIP! intro myself. It wasn't so much Kagome's voice, but Inuyasha's that bothered me... sigh. I'm currious on something though I live in Canada, and when Inuyasha airs every Friday we get both the OP and ED in Japanese with no subtitles (with, of course, the VIZ English Credits). It's something I hope YTV never stops doing. I get the impression that has never happened with Inuyasha in the States? If so, has there ever been an explination as why?

We USED to have the full opening and ending, but it was only for the first couple months of its run, and that's when it ran once a week. Now the openings are cut in favor of a little title card, but the endings are still intact. However, they've started cropping the endings on shows, so when the new episodes come in two weeks, I wonder if they'll suffer the same fate.

I laughed when I heard it. Am I the only one or does anyone else think it sounds stupid in English? "Here we come! It's the start of InuYasha." I couldn't help but think it was corny. When I watched the Japanese subtitled version over again and compared it read a lot better and didn't seem so silly... but now.... umm..... *sister walks by as I watch* .....?? *pulls at shirt collar* "I don't watch that show! How did that get there!?" It makes me sad.
