To the slow people out there I want you all to know this is just pretending or just making random predictions. Anyways, lets say InuYasha were to end (like completely end, manga and everything) and there were to be a transformation to take place what would you want InuYasha to be? Human, Demon, or should he stay the way he is as a half demon? I think he should should stay the way he is and accept himself for what he is and not what he will become. He doesn't need to turn into a full demon to attain the power he desires. He doesn't need to turn Human to win Kagome's heart. He's lucky enough to even have a life on this Earth. He's already perfect the way he is. He just has to realize that. I mean I know a lot of people want it to end like he turns human and lives happilly ever after with Kagome. Why does he need to turn into a full human to be with Kagome? She already loves him the way he is, for what he is. And for all you folks who would love to see InuYasha turn Demon... what difference does it make? He was already gifted with the demon blood of his father that he already has. Well anyways ...yeah that was pretty long wasn't it? What do you guys think?

So, he should stay as he is.

Inuyasha won't decide to become full-youkai if it means he still doesn't have control of his own heart. He made that very clear a long time ago. And I think he would choose to be human if his heart really lead him in that direction. I just wonder how much of an issue it will be in the end. Right now, I'm actually hoping that his powers lead him towards gaining the strength of a full-youkai, but with his hanyou heart. Which is why I love him in 355 so much. That's the closest he's ever been, and I kinda think that's what he would be like at that stage of his strength. But yeah, I think he'll stay a hanyou. Cause it'll mean he gets to keep the ears. And who can resist his ears?

I like him human, myself. Maybe it's just because ningen Inuyasha is such a rare treat.
My vote's on hanyou, too, though. His journey of maturity will be complete when he can accept the fact of what he is and make a place for himself between the two worlds, and all that gestalt jazz. I.e., Yeah, the ears are way too marketable. =)

What is it with the fangirls and the ears? Anyhoo I think inuyasha is fine with being a half demon but I think that if he get the power of a full blown demon and retain his personality than he would probably go for it. Afterall the stronger he gets the better he'll be able to protect Kagome and protecting Kagome has pretty much become his primary motivation.

hm....i am most undecisive...
human: pros- gets to live in Kagome's time without attracting attention, and becomes one with his inner emotions...anyone else notice he has more feelings as a human? cons- becomes weaker, can't transform da Tessaiga (aka: Tetsusaiga), and hates every moment of his life
demon: pros- stronger, faster, meaner, cool blood-thirsty look, and if he could retain his sanity everything would be coming up roses, but... cons- he becomes a killing machine, killing until getting killed, can't transform the Tessaiga, as it only protects humans, and a demon InuYasha wouldn't exactly be protecting anyone, and he loses all thought of his friends
hanyou: pros- keeps the ears, turns human on the new moon nights, fairly strong, stubbornly determined (or just plain stubborn), transforms Tessaiga just fine, has Kagome and Kikyo "courting" him, has lots of allies and friends, and manages to gain the respect of all hanyous, demons, AND humans. cons- sometimes teased, sometimes rejected, bad memories, and sticks out like a sore thumb in Kagome's world.
now...i think i'll stick with a hanyou. if he rocks now, he'll rock in the future!
btw, have you guys ever felt doggy-ears...no wonder everyone is attracted to them. they feel so...so...soft...^__^ i don't really blame Kagome for her reaction to them... and believe me, i was tweaking my doggy's ears even often-er after seeing that for the first time.

I think alot about magic and magic plays a big part in my thinking here
I really think he'll stay a hanyou but it would be nice if he could gain the ability somehow to "transform" to full demon at will (when needed) without losing control of himself - so that if he were in battle with a stronger demon he could transform to fight
I would like to see him stay a hanyou and I would like to see Kagome magically, somehow, become a hanyou herself (ok ok maybe I have watched too much Shrek!) and then they could live happily in Inuyasha's time.

I agree with what you say about him staying the way he is since kagome already loves him for being a half-demon. of course i was one of those people who wants him to turn into a human and they both live happily ever after. what you said kind of got me thinking so maybe yeah it probably would be better if he just stayed the way he was. i mean how did we all fall in love with him in the first place

i realize this is a really OLD forum. but if yokai and hanyo live much longer than humans doesn't that mean inuyasha should become full human. if he doesn't that'll mean when kagome's an old lady he'll look like, 28. plus when she dies he'd have hundreds of years left to live.

This may be true, but provided he's not sterile like many cross-breeds are, he'll probably have children and grandchildren to keep him company. Just because you will vastly outlive someone you love doesn't mean it's not worth it, otherwise no one would have pets.

This may be true, but provided he's not sterile like many cross-breeds are, he'll probably have children and grandchildren to keep him company. Just because you will vastly outlive someone you love doesn't mean it's not worth it, otherwise no one would have pets. I agree fully, the idea that they have the live and die at the same time is kind of sketchy, since that doesn't happen in real life. Death is apart and life and both Kagome and Inuyasha are old enough to know the concept, both practically stared death in the face quite a few times already. I'm sure Inuyasha has thought about it, but it probably won't really cross his mind until it really matters, the only the he wants at the moment is his happy life with Kagome, which he is getting. I think that is the most important thing for both of them deep down, they have each other, they have there happiness, they have there friends, and yeah children possible in the future. Even then he'd still have Shippo, not the most likeable ending for Inuyasha with the way Shippo is. But I'm sure after a few years of being around Kagome and Inuyasha, even if Kagome were to pass, Shippo would be beside him, Shippo is like an adoptive son to the two anyway, so even if the concept of kids wasn't possible, Shippo is there. It's unknown if they could have children, but for those who want the happiest outcome I'm sure they think they'll have a few together, I would throw my nickle into that, because I believe that it's possible and that they will. But upon that, we also don't know how long Inuyasha will specficially live either, half-demons or even demons for that matter don't have an average for with they did, we never see demon on his deathbed either from age, pretty much all of them were just killed and that was the end of it. So, it'll always be a question of how long he does live, people can only honestly go by estimation really on his current age and the age that he could/would die. His human form can complicate things a little he loses most of his protection from sickness and most of his protection in battle and with a sword. We don't know what kind of effects this transformation could have, could it accelerate his aging process just a little? Hard to know or say, we just don't know enough about how is transformation really works, well we do, we just don't have any clear cut explaination about it all, and his age. Which is something that Takahashi looks doing it seems, making her characters mysterious because it leaves them more interesting.
