I notice that the first two DVD's for the Final Chapter have come out in Japan (and the third one soon). The have lovely covers (I think), although it looks like there are two different types of covers. Since I don't read Japanese, I'm not sure. And there appears to be a DVD 1 special edition, with goodies. Will there be DVD's brought out here, in North America, and when? And will they have the pretty covers (and GOODIES!), or will they be packaged for the "American Market?" Do the Japanese DVD's have subs in other languages (ie English)? And much do they cost in US dollars? And could I GET SOME? ? Thanks for any info you can give me. ;D

Each Japanese DVD comes with a two-month calendar (DVD 1 has January and February, DVD 2 has March and April, etc) with the calendar images being the two alternate DVD covers. The special edition of the first DVD also came with a DJCD, which was a roundtable talk with the whole cast, along with a couple of them goofing off with their character voices. Jaken: "Sesshoumaru... speak!" Sesshoumaru: ".... Woof."
The DVDs are Japanese-only and retail for 6300 yen (about $70). Details of the American DVD release are unknown as of yet.

Thanks for the info. I hope that someone can keep us notified about when they might come out. I thought dogs in Japan go "..........Wan?" He did say "Wan" in the skit, but I just translated it. And Jaken actually literally said, "Sesshoumaru, say 'wan''', but I translated it as the English dog command "speak".

I was perusing ebay a little while ago, and found this: Is this for real, or black market?

Darn! That's what I figured. It probably wouldn't be any good then, anyway.

English dub DVD's by Viz are OUT. The first release covers episodes 1-13 of the Ocean dub. The second part will be released in February, 2013 and contain episodes 14-26.
The discs contain the full Japanese dialog, and subtitles, as well as the English dialog and there is a blu-ray counterpart to them.
As a small criticism, Viz did not release a full list of voice actor credits for the English dub; but did release a full translation of the Japanese credits. All title cards in the episodes are in the original Japanese.
For those out there who did not like Moneca Stori's performance as Kagome, be careful what you wish for. Her replacement's performance is worse.

I actually got to liking Kagome's new English voice over her old one. Granted, her new voice was awful for the first couple episodes, but she grew into it. Whereas Sesshoumaru doesn't even sound like he has a new actor at all.
