The end of the Meidou Zangetsuha arc, chapter 410, last page. Kagura's wind after Sesshoumaru vows to be the one who decides if she died in vain. The glowy scene gives it that supernatural edge, the petals gusting around, and I assumed the glowy balls were a brief flurry of fireflies - anime does like the firefly imagery for mystical and/or romantic scenes.
That's what I thought the trailer scene was depicting, anyway.
Edited to add: I had another look at the trailer - it looks like a flurry of mystically glowing petals.

I was wondering. (very dangerous!!) Will they use the launch of The Final Act as an excuse to broadcast Black Tessaiga? Maybe as a Special somewhere down the road....; maybe, around the point where it should be in the series? (hint, hint) ;D

Even if 26 is what they say, I'm not sure that's going to be the reality of it. I've seen lots of shows where they make an estimate, but it ends up being way off from what really goes down. Maybe... they'll put all the episodes through fast-forward, where all of the actions and dialogue are super fast. That way they can fit more into one episode than EVER before! Of course, then you won't be able to tell what's going on in the fight scenes half the time, and all the characters will sound like chipmunks, and we'll be laughing so hard we won't even be able to perceive the serious parts..... Wait, guys, where are you going? I was only kidding. Guys! DON'T GO!!! They did speed the hell out of it. Minus chipmunk voices. You've been vindicated!

Scaea: Did you actually read past the first two lines of my post? I'm not used to that. Kind of weirds me out.
As far as the whole controversy goes with the episode number, I'm sorry. I've just learned not to trust exactly what people say, because plans usually change. I don't know how plausible that is in this particular line of work, but I just went with my "training" there.
Sheesh.

Oh, hey. Something minor I just noticed rewatching it, but Inu-Yasha used to read the "Inu-Yasha is sponsored by ________" message. Instead, now they have Generic Announcer Lady doing it instead (with the phrasing changed to "This program is sponsored by _____"). D: Too bad; I really loved hearing Inu-Yasha's enthusiastic sponsor message.

More weirdness in the potential execution of the story ahead. According to this news report about the DVD release of Kanketsu-hen (Volume 1 due out on 12/27, so they're wasting no time), the titles of episodes 3 and 4 are: 3. u–»“¹ŽcŒŽ”jv Meidou ZangetsuhaMeidou Zangetsuha4. u—³—؂̓SÓ‰åv Ryuurin no TessaigaDragon-Scaled TessaigaNow, aside from swapping the order of events... what? I can see (and appreciate) condensing the entire Dragon-Scaled Tessaiga fight into a single episode because it was pointlessly drawn-out in the original, but Meidou Zangetsuha... took all of one chapter. So either they're going to do a total about-face from the rest of the series and totally pad that storyline, or they're going to bring in other stuff. Which hopefully does not include dragging Sessmom kicking and screaming 100 chapters early to get Sesshoumaru his intermediary powerup all in one go (though I don't know how they'd do that before Kohaku joins his group, unless they really effed with the Sessmom arc, which would be damn unforgiveable). I'm not going to update the main site with these titles until tomorrow, when the Japanese TV schedules should be updated with their information for next weekend and we can see if this is accurate.

More WTF-ness commences. Sunrise now has titles up through episode 7, with summaries through episode 6:
3. u–»“¹ŽcŒŽ”jv Meidou Zangetsuha Meidou Zangetsuha It is the day of the yearly Kitsune Youjutsu Advancement Exam. Miroku and the others get caught up in the exam. Shippou pesters Inuyasha in order to advance his rank. Meanwhile, Toutousai pays a visit to Sesshoumaru to reforge Tenseiga. Tenseiga is given the power to fight as a weapon. Sesshoumaru learns a new technique.
4. u—³—؂̓SÓ‰åv Ryuurin no Tessaiga Draon-Scaled Tessaiga A swordsmith named Toushuu completes a youkai blade called Dakki that is forged from the scale of a Ryuujin. Can Inuyasha win against a sword that absorbs Tessaiga's youki and wears it away with jyaki with each strike?! Meanwhile, Kouga rescues a Yourouzoku child who has been captured by a poisonous moth, and confronts Mouryoumaru...
5. u—d—ì‘幂̎Ž—ûv Yourei Taisei no Shiren Yourei Taisei's Trials Tessaiga gains the power of dragon scales. Inuyasha must train in order to master its youkai power. Instructed by Toutousai, Inuyasha's group pays a visit to Yourei Taisei, but Yourei Taisei has had his guts stolen by a youkai, and the villagers have also taken the form of youkai.
6. ué±é²ŠÛ‚ÌÅŠúv Mouryoumaru no Saigo Mouryoumaru's End Inuyasha and Kouga come rushing to the place of Naraku and Mouryoumaru's showdown, but Kouga is caught by Mouryoumaru who intends to take his Shikon shards. Meanwhile, Naraku has prepared a secret plan to close in on his heart - the baby - hiding inside of Mouryoumaru! What will be the outcome of this three-way match...?
7. uˆ²ŽR‚Ì—ì•_v Azusa-yama no Reibyou The Mausoleum at Mount Azusa
Well, at least it looks like from episode 5 onward they seem to have settled into a more linear storyline without yanking stuff from elsewhere in the series. It looks like they're skipping the entire ordeal concerning the bake-neko, Nikosen, and Kinka-Ginka, which overall is no real loss and I was expecting those portions to be skipped, anyway. Though what's this poisonous moth kidnapping (what I'm assuming is) Kai? Granted, in the original it was Byakuya, who strangely has no mention of appearing yet.
At this rate, they're going to get to the Black Tessaiga storyline around episode 11, which would leave the remaining 50 chapters to be animated in 15 episodes, which would be at a pace comparable to the original series.

Wasn't Kai's little brother in the clutches of a giant moth at some point during his kidnapping ordeal? It sounds like that's what's going on; he's probably helping Kai rescue his brother (Kenta, was it)? Byakuya's already been in the OP and ED sequences, so I'm sure he'll be introduced. They probably don't want to confuse people more than they already are. >>;

Does this mean that if the Mount Azusa stuff is in Episode 7 that Kikyou's death will be in Episode 8? (Which might make the Hell arc Episode 9?)
Unless they change the order they appear in too, of course.

MOAR EPISODE TITELS!!!!111
Some of these we already knew, but now they come with summaries!
7. uˆ²ŽR‚Ì—ì•_v Azusa-yama no Reibyou The Mausoleum at Mount Azusa There is an item necessary to save Kikyou after she is defiled by Naraku's spider web. That would be the bowstring stored in the mausoleum on Mount Azusa. Kagome hurries to Mount Azusa in order to save Kikyou.
8.@u¯X‚«‚ç‚ß‚«‚ÌŠÔ‚Év Hoshiboshi Kirameki no Aida ni As the Stars Shine With the help of Midoriko's will that resides in the shards in Kouga's legs, Kikyou intends to purify the Shikon no Tama along with Naraku. What is the true meaning behind the words "Protect the final shard, Kohaku's light" that were entrusted to Kagome?
9.@u–»ŠE‚ÌŽE¶ŠÛv Meikai no Sesshoumaru Sesshoumaru in Hell When Sesshoumaru comes inquiring to his mother about how to widen Tenseiga's Meidou, she uses the Meidou-seki entrusted to her by his father. A giant dog appears. Swallowed by it, Kohaku and Rin are dragged into the Meidou!
10.@u”ß‚µ‚݂ɔG‚ê‚é‰Ôv Kanashimi ni Nureru Hana A Grief-Stained Flower A youkai who uses grieving and suffering hearts as nourishment - Kaou. Bewildered by the scent of these flowers, Inuyasha is drawn into a fabricated dream. Kagome shoots an arrow with a rosary attached at Kaou, but...
lawl, Sunrise has certainly come up with the most amazing title for what is arguably the best arc in the series (not to mention they let Sakuma direct it, bleh). At least it's getting its own entire episode devoted to it. Though with as quickly as they blew through the Mouryoumaru stuff, now they only need to do five chapters an episode to make it to the end. However, I can't imagine the Kaou stuff taking an entire episode, since it was only, like, two or three chapters to begin with and really wasn't all that great.

NTV's schedule for next week with the cast list has been updated, so now we know that Sesshoumaru's mom is going to be played by Sakakibara Yoshiko.

I just started seeing this message posted on Chinese message boards this morning: “Ç”„ƒeƒŒƒrE“ú–{ƒeƒŒƒrƒAƒjƒuŒ¢–é³ Š®结编v‚̃Gƒ“ƒfƒBƒ“ƒOƒe[ƒ}‚Éalan‚Ì Šy‹È‚ª™r’肵‚Ü‚µ‚½B ‰‰ñ•ú‘—“úF “Ç”„ƒeƒŒƒriŠÖ¼j 12/7iŒŽj 25:44` “ú–{ƒeƒŒƒriŠÖ东j 12/5i“yj 26:20` ¥”ñ‚¨Šy‚µ‚Ý‚ÉI The message itself is in Japanese, but I haven't found any Japanese sites displaying it yet, only Chinese forums. The message reads: It has been determined that the ending theme for NTV and YTV's "Inuyasha Kanketsu-hen" will be performed by alan.
First airings are: YTV (West) 12/7 25:44 NTV (East) 12/5 26:20 Definitely look forward to it!In short, this news bit implies we're getting a new ending theme in episode 10. But, again, the only place I've seen this is on Chinese forums, so I'm not going to make a front-page news item about it until I see a more "official" source.

Weird scheduling issue for next week. While both NTV and the Japanese TV Guide websites have the next episode playing on December 12th at 4:25 in the morning, neither site has an episode number or title associated with it, and only a generic cast list that includes Mouryoumaru, Hakudoushi, and Kagura. I mean.... I would assume it's episode 11, but it's weird that neither site has anything specific up right now.
