As I suspected: Viz to Simulcast Inuyasha The Final Act Online. Though I wonder what they really mean by "simulcast". It says they'll play it on Saturday, but when on Saturday? Unlike the Rinne "simultaneous" release that actually comes out a day later here due to the time difference, the Saturday broadcast in Japan is technically at 2:30 Sunday morning, which is about 3:30 in the afternoon Saturday around here, give or take depending on your location. Therefore, if they're making it available first thing Saturday, we'd actually be getting it BEFORE Japan does.

:DDDDD!!!!! *excitement*
I'm hoping it actually WILL be released on the day it airs in Japan (as opposed to say, FMA, that airs on Sunday but simulcasts on Thursday). If it does, though, I'd expect it'd get released in the evening Saturdays. :D

As long as I can UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE SAYING, I'm not fussy about when it comes on. Although Saturday is better, since I work regular Monday through Friday. :DDDDD!!!!! *excitement* I'm hoping it actually WILL be released on the day it airs in Japan (as opposed to say, FMA, that airs on Sunday but simulcasts on Thursday). I guess it takes them that long to sub it. *shrug* It's still a "simulcast" since they've just got a slight lag on the release; they're still releasing it during the same time frame as the initial Japanese release. Aaaaand now the word "release" holds no meaning to my ears due to using it too much in rapid-fire. XD Btw, even if the Viz sub gets released on weekdays, I'm sure you'd be fine since they'd probably keep the video archived on their site to watch anytime.

*fangasms* YTV finally posted a trailer. Damn. Damndamndamn, the animation in this looks so friggin' GOOD. And there's so many snippits of stuff that I recognize, from Kagura's death to Goraishi to the battle where Toukijin breaks... Saturday can't get here fast enough.

D: I hope the trailer site loads for me sometime soon. Yeah, I had a lot of issues getting it to load, too. And even when it does, for some reason it doesn't cache it, so if you want to watch it again, it has to find and load it again, and sometimes it can't. It looks like it's pulling the video from some off-site flv file, but I can't find a way to snatch it. Also, ShonenSunday.com/Anime, where Viz is hosting their episodes, is up now, but the videos won't play for me. ^_^* It'll play the "this video is presented with limited commercial interruption" line, then stop.

Huh. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that's it's hosted on Hulu. BTW's, looks like Viz has a subbed trailer now! shonensunday.com/video/index.shtml#inuyasha :D ....so, question. Is anybody else like...in shock? Like I totally feel like this isn't really happening and it will all go away if somebody pinches me. I just CANNOT BELIEVE this is really happening...! It's like...I've wanted this for SO LONG that now that it's actually happening, I can't even convince myself that it IS happening. It's only just kinda hitting me. At this rate, I might actually cry when I first see that first episode. Holy shit. Just...Holy shit.

I know, the release of these videos is making me all giddy. XD It's like, wow... it's REAL now. And only two days away! Man, I just hope... I'm not horribly let down by them chopping the series to hell, but at this point I can't look a gift horse in the mouth.
I wonder what the scene of Sesshoumaru, Jaken and Rin with all the glowy things around them is, though. It was the only scene in the trailer I couldn't immediately identify. The only time I remember them hanging out at night in the manga is when Sesshoumaru first gets Meidou Zangetsuha from Toutousai. Come to think of it.... yeah, maybe there were glowy things around them then, because there were a bunch of youkai around.
The farthest into the series that any of the clips in the trailers seem to go is chapter 411, but I wonder how many episodes it'll take them to get that far from where they're starting at 363. Fitting 21 volumes into 26 episodes means they're necessarily going to have to cut almost half the material. Let's just hope they kept the good half (though the majority of the clips in the trailer were of the good stuff).

Even if 26 is what they say, I'm not sure that's going to be the reality of it. I've seen lots of shows where they make an estimate, but it ends up being way off from what really goes down. Maybe... they'll put all the episodes through fast-forward, where all of the actions and dialogue are super fast. That way they can fit more into one episode than EVER before! Of course, then you won't be able to tell what's going on in the fight scenes half the time, and all the characters will sound like chipmunks, and we'll be laughing so hard we won't even be able to perceive the serious parts..... Wait, guys, where are you going? I was only kidding. Guys! DON'T GO!!!

No, if they say it's 26 episodes, it's 26 episodes, because that's how many broadcast slots they've bought. Suwa's blog this morning says it's 26 episodes, and he's the producer, so he should know. ^_^*

No possibility of buying more then? I just assumed that's what the other shows did. Of course, the shows I'm talking about jumped around from timeslot to timeslot with no pattern and eventually just lost it entirely, so I don't imagine that would be a terribly good strategy.
Still, I'm just throwing the whole sped-up series thing out there. I think that would be an extremely funny conclusion.

No. The blog said they're doing 20 volumes in 26 episodes. Those 26 episodes have probably already at least been roughly scripted out in some form, and it's going all the way to the end of the manga. There would be no point in ordering more to pad it out, or they'd have to re-write half the series to stretch it out.
