I just took my last final today.... this semester is FINALLY OVER. I was so fed up with it, and I didn't even care... Im just so glad the thing is no longer a concern of mine. The only downside is I don't think next semester is going to be any better.

Yay! Mine's done too, until mid-January.
Next quarter should be okay for me. What do you have?

Oh, you know, a couple of anthropology courses, a couple of sociology courses. I hate majors. I wish I had my liberal education back. What do you have?

Philosophy of Ethics, and Sociology. Have to stay part-time because my college is retarded and scheduled nearly all the available classes for my major on the same freakin' night.

They do that a lot to me as well. I find it a little disappointing when the courses I need to take aren't available when I need to take them too. Although, I don't know if that's the institution as a whole, or the professor who teaches it. I'm currently having trouble because I want to take a music course or two for fun, and people keep trying to persuade me not to take it because it's not part of my major. "Don't you want to graduate in four years?" You'd think they didn't WANT me to spend more of my money at the college.

My college will not allow financial aid money for classes that aren't in the program. Since I'm in Business Administration, I couldn't take a graphics class and have it paid for, I'd have to cover that expense myself. But yeah, you'd think they'd be happy to have you blowing more money their way....

Seriously, whatever happened to liberal education? I guess it was just that people felt there was more use for specialization, but I always thought that was what trade and vocational schools were for, not your liberal arts and sciences four year institution.
Disappointing.

Well, my problem is that I go to a "business" college, so there's nothing in liberal arts. They even killed their computer graphics program.
Maybe I should switch to the typical university, just so I'm not so bored. There's one 15 miles from me, but from what I can see of its programs, I'd be just as bored there.
I just don't know what I want to be when I grow up!

I think it's a shame that they make you choose. I would be much happier if I was encouraged to be a student whenever I had interest in another subject. The thing is... I don't think I'm going to want to be the SAME thing my ENTIRE life. I want to do a whole plethora of things, but the way they run the show, it's specialization all the way.

I always thought it was kind of dumb that you were supposed to know what you wanted to do professionally by the time you were 15-16. Let's face it, the average adult will change career paths at least twice, and likely three or four times. So really, was that education worth it if you only stuck with it for a few years?

I guess the overly-ambitious people are forcing us to choose. The general idea is that if you don't keep up with them, they end up owning 98% of the assets of the country.
... Oh wait....

Heh.
School's back in, I'm already loaded with work (2 research papers and 2 oral presentations!) and I don't like one of my teachers.
