Well, with the "Ha ha, I'm so screwed!" feel from Kohaku in this week's chapter, do you think he's following in Kagura's footsteps? I mean, obviously the shard in his back is going to need to be removed at some point, but will that really be the end of him? Unlike Kagura, Kohaku's got something to live for, but he's also got the burden on his back of the people he's been manipulated into killing. So... wha'cha think?

Oh man! I know I'm going to guess wrong (especially after the whole Kagura thing!) but I really want him to live! He's one of my favorites (o.k. so there all my favorites), but I really want him to have a part in taking down Naraku! He's been screwed over the most (in my opinion). So my guess is that he's going to die but someone will revive him (Sessh maybe?). I really hope so!

Sesshy most likely can revive him and I am sure if he won't he is going to hear an earful from Rin....then again, PH33R THE ALL MIGHTY PLOT TWISTS!

Aw, jeez. Tough question. I hate to do it, but I'm voting against the poor kid. In some ways, it's even just that he die. I mean, yeah, he's a pawn, way more so than Kagura --he actually feels bad about the people he's killed, and he wasn't exactly in control of himself in those moments. But he did still kill them, and that's on his conscience, whether it's really fair or not. Of course, that reasoning makes me really scared for Kouga and Inuyasha... And aren't I always saying this is a hopeful story? =P But anyway, the main reason I voted against him is because 1) I don't see any other way out (Cuz, dude... if the shard comes out and he doesn't die... major dramatic let down) and 2) because he seems so damn resigned. So, I definitely see Kohaku dying, even if it happens that the others decide they can't possibly take the shard from him. He'll find a way to die. =) Whether he stays dead, will depend on Sesshoumaru, and who knows. Okay, so, yeah, in my heart I do totally believe Sesshoumaru'd do it if Tenseiga clattered enough in the scabbard, but I don't want to get too complacent with the idea that he's the guaranteed reverser of death. Not because I've been burned by Kagura, but just on principle. Sesshoumaru's cooler if he's unpredictable.

At this rate, we should start a "The Fate of *Insert Random Main Character Here*" thread, because Takahashi seems to be continuing the trend of knocking our favorite protagonists off the face of the earth. Not that Kagura was a "good guy," per say, but still, we liked her a lot. (:
Not sure about Kohaku, really. Even though Takahashi went the way I was leaning towards with Kagura, Kohaku's situation seems all the more puzzling. It could go either way. On one hand, Kohaku's utterly serious about his revenge, on the other (as Patches pointed out), the boy actually has something to live for - Sango. Not to mention his death would cause even MORE grief for the poor girl, who - come on! - has probably suffered enough angst to last her several lifetimes.
As for Sesshoumaru saving the day, since Takahashi already pulled that ace out the last night a main character died, I'm not sure if she'll try it again. She's kinda not one to be predictable - as we've learned time and time again. By the way, I'm still waiting for Kouga to randomly show up and do that tap dance . . . :P
I suppose maybe we'll find out next week? :/

I feel really bad about this, but I had to go for the positive answer. She killed Kagura, what stops her from killing Kohaku? Whatever, plot-wise, the shard IS going to be removed and I really don't see Sesshoumaru saving him or anyone that has any *remote* connection with Inuyasha (more if he's a human AND was under Naraku's control). Or maybe after Kagura died he rethought of what happened? Whatever, my choice is that the kid is gonna die whatever happens. The obvious one would be that Sesshoumaru'll revive him, but as I stated before, I really DOUBT seeing him revining a human. I really wish he wouldn't die, but my choice here is that, indeed, he is.

Wouldn't it be funny if the shard was removed and Kohaku just simply DIDN'T die? I mean really. I never got the impression that his injuries were any worse then Sango's. Yet, when her jewel shard was removed, she lived.
Or perhaps his soul will go into the shard and when Naraku is defeated, Kagome, or someone will used the completed jewel and now purified jewel to revive him and return his soul.
And I agree about Sesshoumaru. It's too obvious.
Here's the real question:
What will be the fate of Kanna Absorbsion, death or a life of endless wondering around aimlessly. ;D

I voted for the die-and-then-revive option. However, I kinda doubt Sesshoumaru will be the one to do it. I picture something more like this:
Kohaku gives up his shard and thus dies. Naraku is killed and the jewel is purified. After Naraku's defeat, the jewel is used to revive Kohaku instead of for Inuyasha.

Yup, that's what I hypothosised in the post above you But the more I think about it, the more I suspect the Jewel will be destroyed utterly once Naraku is defeated or even in order to defeat him. It would just be right so that this sort of thing won't ever happen again thus making the ending to the series that much more final. P

well, the Shikon no Tama is indeed going to be destroyed once its purified. The only option for Kohaku to come back to life is Sesshoumaru, but then again, I highly doubt it

Yay! So now the entire Inu-tachi is agreed that they don't want Kohaku to die.
Is this leveling up the chances of him living? Maybe. Either that or Takahashi is trying to put our hopes up before she deals the final devastating blow...

As I've said in another thread....Denial! Denial! Denial!!!!!! *sits in meditation position, chanting* "Kuhaku will not die, Kuhaku will not die....everything is happy..." sigh...It's getting harder to stay in my world of denial....but hopefully like Fflewddur said, maybe the chances of him living are leveling now that all of the Inu gang agree to keep him alive (if they can)....alright....back to my little world of denial where Kuhaku won't die and everything is going to be just fine.....

I voted that he would die... sorry but...
I USE to believe that when the jewel was complete, they will use the jewel to save him, and because it's a nice act, the jewel will purify and disappear.
It was a nice theory... but after what happened to Kagura... I'm starting to think that Takahashi-san LIKES killing off her characters or something...

Well, I had to revive this topic too (I get the feeling I'm gonna get shouted at reviving really old topics >__<), since the last chapter was so much into this... well, my votes are actually changing from what I used to think before... maybe Kikyou will save him or something... he probably still hast the shard on his back, but maybe Kikyou can do something about him, now that they're working together, or something.

Kohaku is SO dead. Whether he remains dead again is the big question. The most obvious thing is for Sesshoumaru to revive him, since last time he did that with Otter-boy's dad and was all huffy about it, and then he tried to use it on a would-be girlfriend and was like, "Crap, it wont' work!" So Sesshoumaru's gotta make up for that somehow! XD And according to the poll I already voted but I can't for the life of me remember what I voted for when I did...
