Pepper steak:
One medium package stew meat (or you can buy a small roast and cut it up, less fat that way) One green pepper, cut into small strips One medium onion (you only need one or two slices, then cut those into small strips Worcestershire sauce Instant rice (I usually do 4 servings) 1 package brown gravy mix Seasoning (I've been using Grill Mates Montreal steak, but as long as it's a spice you like, go for it). Steak sauce (optional)
In a medium saucepan, sautee green pepper and onion in a dab of olive oil. Add a splash of worcestershire sauce, simmer 5 minutes or until veggies are softened.
Add stew meat and seasoning. I generally do another splash of worchester, but I like mine to be pretty spicy. Add a small amount of water to pan and cover, simmer 7-10 minutes or until veggies are tender and meat is cooked.
In another pan, make rice according to directions. Do the same with the gravy, then mix the gravy in with the meat and veggies, stirring thoroughly. At this point I add a bit more of the seasoning for extra kick. *If you like, add a tiny bit of steak sauce and worcestershire to the gravy before adding to the pan*
Spoon rice into a bowl, and top with the meat/veggie/gravy mix.
Makes 4 servings.
