Next to Inuyasha, that's my favorite anime series. I'm not much for giant robots and magic cards.

You bet I'm a fan of Cowboy Bebop. Mostly because Yoko Kanno compossed a lot of songs for the series and I also love Steve Conte. Especially his version of Call Me, Call Me. But ya all in all my favorite Bebop character is a tie between Ed and Faye. *sniffles* Anyways ya I like Cowboy Bebop too, for various reasons. Oh and I'm gunna throw a random thing in. te o nobashite, ryoute agete! translation: Stretch out your hands, Rise up both your hands! Dude I love that song!

Yeah, the music is wonderful! Aside from Call Me Call Me, I never get tired of hearing Rain, Green Bird, and Tank. It's particularly facinating that they actually created the anime around the music! That's why it fits so harmoniously. Another factor I love about it is the characters. You seperate them and put them in their own series or something and I seriously doubt it would work too well. Their personalities complement each other and bring out the best and the worst in each other. It's supurb writing. It implies more then it reveals and yet it inspires the imaginination to fill in the gaps just as music doesn't always make sense but it moves you anyway. Oh, and Vicious... "You will cry tears of scarlet." What an awsome villian!

I love Bebop, too, I got into it four years ago before it was put on Adult Swim... *sighs* ahhh, the good ol' days. I love all the characters, and still listen to the music with just as much enthusiatic vigor as the first time I had heard them. I also have a long history with the Bebop Board.

I love love love LOVE Bebop. One of the best put together animes in my opinion. And I have like, three of the CDs, and goodness knows I still listen to them. Again. And again. I just can't get enough of Dijurido and 3.14 and Piano Bar.

Actually, I'm hard pressed to even call Bebop anime being so steeped in American culture and all. I really wish they would make another movie and have it take place before the series and deal with Vicious and maybe the Titan War. I know, I'm really fanboy dreaming now, but I really like Vicious. He's like a fallen angel and I would really like to see more detail of how that happened P

But it's the ambiguity of it all that attracts me to the series the most. For all the betrayal and blood of the past, it remains a mystery where only bits and pieces of memory remain. It keeps the imagination at its best to try to figure out what happened.

Actually, I remember once discussing Bebop's ending with a few frieds... some of them had the weirdest ideas, but I won't tell them here, I don't wanna spoil the show to ppl who haven't seen it.
BTW, Julia is a b*tch... >__< man I hate her.

I agree about the ambiguity. That should remain. But I get the impression that there could be a whole story about Vicious that doesn't have anything to do with Spike or Julia...well maybe Julia Speaking of her, Chafa-kun, what did she do that you don't like? P

Like the anime's version of Kikyou, Julia is a much wrought-upon character. But really, from what you can gather and/or imply from her situation, what could she do? Live forever in fear in the life of a mafia syndicate with Vicious, or escape to freedom with Spike? And when that choice was no longer hers, would she choose to kill Spike, or escape to at least let one of them be free? If anything, that makes her a far more admirable character than she gets credit for. Also, for such an important character, she sure gets little screen time. But it's done so well, I guess we have Shinichiro Wantanabe to thank for that.

Speaking of her, Chafa-kun, what did she do that you don't like? Well, she did many things. First: She got Spike in the middle of her relation with Vicious. Second: She did somehow betray Spike, right? Third: according to the second reason, what right does she have in comming back to Spike, asking for forgiveness? I know she didn't explicitly do it, but she actually did imply it in the graveyard. I know I'm blaming it all on Julia, but I have to admit that its a 50% guilt between Julia and Spike. The guy's an asshole, let's admit it. He just hears the name Julia and goes running in search of her...

Me, I just feel sorry for her. Vicious lives up to his name and puts her in a heartbreaking situation. As for cheating on Vicious, yeah I have heard that before and maybe I missed something, but I never got that impression. I just got the feeling they were both seeing her at the same time. But you are right, Spike is a fool because he's in love. Though, I think he's more in love with the idea of Julia then the person. All those years of being sepparated from her and thinking about her delusioned him. You tend to remember the good only when that happens. Life is but a dream--LOL!
Never seen Samurai Champloo. I'll check it out if Hastings has any of them on DVD or Video.
